Arriving Into the New Year With Gentleness
A Trauma-Informed Functional Meditation
The New Year can often arrive with pressure, expectations, and the sense that we need to do more or be better. This gentle, embodied meditation offers a different invitation: to arrive softly, grounded in the body, and supported from within.
This session is a trauma-informed, somatic meditation designed to help you settle your nervous system, cultivate safety in the body, and enter the year from a place of presence rather than urgency. Rather than goal-setting or striving, we focus on regulation, awareness, and gentle orientation to what is here.
The practice draws on functional meditation principles that honour the relationship between mind, body, and spirit, making space for reflection, heart awareness, and grounded intention. It is suitable for both Christian and non-Christian participants, with language that is invitational and choice-based.
This session supports:
• Nervous system regulation and emotional grounding
• Cultivating safety and gentleness in the body
• Heart-space awareness and embodied presence
• Beginning the year with clarity, compassion, and steadiness
What to expect:
• A 10–15 minute guided meditation
• Trauma-aware, slow, and optional prompts
• Seated or lying down—your choice
• Live via google meets
Date: 1 January 2026
Time: 9:00am ACDT
